Today, Jack Ternan filed with the Texas Democratic Party to appear on the primary ballot for Texas Senate District 8. Jack Ternan, who grew up in Plano, Texas, is the first Democrat to file for the position in eighteen years. Jack Ternan is holding a campaign kickoff at noon this Saturday, December 10, at his alma mater, Plano East Senior High School, 3000 Los Rios Boulevard, Plano, Texas 75074.
“Growing up, I benefited from our public institutions, and I want those institutions to work for the next generation,” said Jack Ternan. “To do that, we need problem-solvers in Austin—people who look for little changes with big effects. We don’t need to take our country back; we need to take our country forward.”
About Jack Ternan:
Jack grew up in Plano, Texas along with his mother, father, and three brothers. After graduating from Plano East Senior High School in 2000, he attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC where, in 2004, he received a bachelor’s degree in government and history. Jack continued his education at The University of Texas and obtained his law degree and license in 2007.
After completing school, Jack joined the law firm of Bickel & Brewer where he practices complex commercial litigation. He has sought justice for those affected by the City of Farmers Branch’s anti-immigrant ordinances, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and an anti-competitive deal between Southwest and American airlines.
In 2010, Jack married the beautiful Ashley Morgan, a Dallas native. Together, they live in Plano, Texas along with Jack III, the first of hopefully many children.
