The McKinney North Bulldogs JV baseball team continued its outstanding start as it began district play at Wylie East on Wednesday, March 7.
The Bulldogs got another superb pitching performance by Clayton Trout but were down 1-0 going into the top of the 7th. North had runners on second and third when freshman Gabe Constantine singled into left to drive in what became the tying and winning runs as sophomore Braden Stuart got the save.
Two days later, the Dawgs traveled back to Wylie East, this time a non-district game. Once again they got a superb pitching peformance, this time from Jordan Hastings who held the Raiders to 2 runs. And once again, the tenacious Dawgs’ offense came through in their half of the seventh inning. Timely hitting from Travis Scalf and Sydney Wiggins led to four runs and the win.
The Dawgs are now 6-1 (1-0 in District) and take on JJ Pearce at home Tuesday afternoon at 4:30.
