Daddy’s Dyin’, Who’s Got the Will is McKinney Repertory Theatre’s latest comedy offering. Set in a small Texas town Daddy’s Dyin’ concerns the reunion of a very dysfunctional family that gathers to await the imminent death of their patriarch, who has recently suffered a physically as well as mentally disabling stroke. The family bedlam includes bouts of sibling rivalry, visions of an unhappy marriage, and the youngest sister that brings home a hippie ex-con financé! It is however not the story of the impending demise of the father or of the drafting of his will, but of a rebirth of the spirit of the family unit.
The show opens this Friday, September 30 at 8 pm at the McKinney Performing Arts Center’s Courtroom Theater, 111 N. Tennessee Street. Tickets are $16.50 to $13.50. Call MPAC for group pricing or to purchase tickets at 214-544-4630. Other performance dates are October 1, 7, and 8 at 8 pm, with a matinee on Sunday October 9th at 2:00 pm.
