The Chapel at Chestnut Square will be full of cowboys on Friday, Feb. 22 and Sunday, Feb. 24. Cowboy Spirit, a movie produced by Cowboy Sprirt Fillms will premier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. The movie, starring Rich Manley, Ala Brown and Jenna Lorenzo celebrates the strong values that are synonomous with cowboys.
“Our Spirit of the Cowboy event at Chestnut Square was such a hit last Fall we thought we’d offer more cowboy activities throughout the year,” said Donna Wilmeth, Spirit of the Cowboy organizer. “This movie tells a great story of a young man that draws n the lessons he learned from his cowboy grandfather to save a dying girl. It’s a great message.”
Dixie’s Store at Chestnut Square will offer fresh popped popcorn, old-fashioned candies and water during the movie. On Friday night, Mustang Mikki will do a pre-movie concert starting at 7 p.m. Before the Sunday matinee, Taylor Heard will sing the movie soundtrack, Cowboy in the Rain, from her original music video.
“Cowboys were such an important part of the history of Collin County. We’re pleased to be able to offer a venue for this great movie about cowboy values,” said Cindy Johnson.
Admission to the movie is $10. Popcorn and water will be available for $1 each. All proceeds from the movie will go toward funding of the 2013 Spirit of the Cowboy event scheduled for October 12th and 13th.
