Country Club Drive and the Belk driveway at U.S. 75 tentatively scheduled to reopen this Saturday, March 29.
Weather permitting, TxDOT plans to switch U.S. 75 southbound frontage road traffic to new pavement from north of Country Club Drive to the Belk driveway this Saturday, March 29, 2014. This will allow the reopening of both Country Club Drive at the frontage road and the Belk driveway at the frontage road.
Shortly after that, it will be necessary to temporarily close Craig Drive (North) at the frontage road for a few weeks while the intersection and new ramp to Eldorado Parkway are completed. While Craig Drive (North) at the frontage road is temporarily closed, drivers will be able to reach Eldorado Plaza from U.S. 75 via the Belk driveway and via Eldorado Parkway. That work is expected to be done by the end of April, at which time the Belk driveway, Craig Drive, the Starbucks driveway, and the new ramp to Eldorado Parkway will all be open for good.
Medical Center Drive and the ramp from Eldorado Parkway to the northbound frontage road are also both expected to be open for good by the end of April.
As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in 2015.
Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs. If you have any questions, please contact Danny Still at (972) 547-7631 email@example.com. Thank you for your cooperation.
