Cornerstone Christian Academy Girls Volleyball Wraps Up Its Season

The Cornerstone Christian Academy Lady Warriors 2011 Volleyball team concluded a successful season in McKinney by winning their district (TAPPS Class 1A, District 3) with a record of 8-0 and an overall record of 13-4.

For a 2nd year in a row the CCA Warriors reached the play-offs but fell to Tomball Woodlands Prep School at the McKinney YMCA gym on October 25th.

2011 Individual Honors

TAPPS All-State 1A: 2nd Team – Lilly Burgess, Junior outside hitter Honorable Mention – Madelyn Smith, Sophomore outside hitter

TAPPS All-District: 1st Team – Lilly Burgess, Madelyn Smith, Emily Guleserian (Senior setter) and Mackenzie Giddens (Sophomore outside hitter) 2nd Team – Desarae Glenn (Senior Libero), Rachel Campbell (Senior setter) and Tessa Gerrild (Sophomore outside hitter)

Player of the Year – Lilly Burgess

Newcomer of the Year – Madelyn Smith

The Lady Warriors are coached by Chad Lively & CCA’s athletic director is Sean Hanlon. Inaugurated in 2004, Cornerstone Christian Academy now serves Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The school is located just north of downtown McKinney, Texas.
