Collin College’s Continuing Education is scheduled to begin offering Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) courses as well as a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification later this month at the Courtyard Center 4800 Preston Park Blvd., in Plano.
Cisco Certified Network’s Continuing Education courses offer concurrent non-credit enrollment in Collin College Cisco Systems Networking Academy in preparation for the associated CCNA and CCNP certification exams.
The CCNA and CCNP courses are:
• CCNP Route: Implementing Cisco IP Routing course is on Monday, Aug. 22 while Cisco CCNA Security is on Tuesday, Aug. 23 and CCNP IP Switching is on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
• The Cisco Exploration 2: Routing Protocols and Concepts course starts on Saturday, Aug. 27, with additional courses being held on Monday, Oct. 17, Tuesday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 22.
• Cisco Exploration 3: LAN Switching and Wireless courses are on Saturday, Aug. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 22.
The MCITP Certification is a 120-hour course, which starts on Tuesday, Aug. 30, that prepares students with expertise, real-world skills and mastery of Microsoft technologies to take the Windows Server 2008 Administrator exams.
Collin College is a member of the Microsoft IT Academy, as well as the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDN Academic Alliance), which affords free Microsoft developer software downloads to students.
To find out more about these class offerings and have questions answered by an instructor, attend the free Open House sessions from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Courtyard Center. These sessions are free but registration is requested by calling 972.985.3711.
