Wayne Richard, a Plano businessman and conservative radio talk show host, is announcing his candidacy for The Texas House of Representatives District 66. The District 66 seat is currently held by Representative Van Taylor, who is vacating the seat to run for the Texas Senate. District 66 is primarily made up of the Southwest portion of Collin County.
Richard, a Republican, is the founder and president of a technology company. He is a conservative businessman who also has a weekly political radio talk show. Richard is running to make certain that the Texas economy continues to lead America out of this recession. Richard believes that rebuilding our state and nation can be accomplished by improving our public education system through innovative solutions and accountability. Richard believes a viable and cost effective transportation system is essential to maintaining economic growth and adequate border security must be in place for the safety of our citizens.
“As a business owner, I know what it takes to create jobs, meet a payroll and balance a budget. To keep our economy strong it will require eliminating unnecessary regulations and cutting out wasteful government spending” said, Wayne Richard.
He is also a strong supporter of our second amendment rights, pro-life legislation and opposes unfunded mandates from Washington.
“I want to serve in Austin to lower taxes, improve our schools and protect our rights as Texas citizens. I am a driven conservative who has articulated our message on the radio and now I believe it is time to help push through a conservative agenda in the Texas House of Representatives” said, Wayne Richard.
Richard is a graduate of SMU and married to his wife Susan. They have lived in Plano 13 years and are members of Prestonwood Baptist Church as well as numerous Republican Party and civic organizations.
