The City of McKinney will receive Community Development Block Grant funds to address a range of Community Development activities from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Funds must be used in McKinney to meet at least one CDBG national objective including: benefit to low and moderate income persons including homeless, aging, youth and disabled persons; preventing slum or blighted areas; or addressing an urgent need.
The city will host a pre-application workshop Wednesday, March 19 at 2 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St. Interested agencies and organizations are strongly encouraged to attend. Application proposals must be received by the Housing and Community Development Department, 314 S. Chestnut St., Ste. 101 by 4 p.m. Monday, April 7. Applications will be reviewed by the Community Grants Advisory Commission, and agency presentations will be held May 7-8. The minimum grant award to any agency is $5,000.
