On Monday, June 17, TAPS Public Transit will begin accepting phone reservations for trips scheduled on or after July 1. That’s the date TAPS buses will hit the road, providing public transportation services for Collin County rural areas and for the City of McKinney.
Anyone who lives in an area assigned to TAPS for transportation will be able to book a ride on a TAPS bus with just 24 hours advance notice.
A ride on a TAPS bus can be arranged to take you anywhere you need to go in the agency’s service area, for as little as $1.00 per trip. Exact fares and rider rules are located at TAPSbus.com.
When TAPS begins its on-demand, curb-to-curb service on July 1, it will allow Collin County residents to take convenient, affordable, public transportation to keep a medical appointment, go shopping, visit a city or county facility, go to school, or go to work.
By September of this year, TAPS expects to start up regular fixed-route feeder service from outlying areas in Collin County to the hub in McKinney where riders can connect with other transportation.
