Update at 12:07 p.m. – According to the Collin County Sheriff’s Department, the Collin County Courthouse has been cleared and reopened after no explosive devices were found in the building.
Original Post – The Collin County Courthouse was evacuated on Wednesday morning after a bomb threat was called into the McKinney Police Department.
The caller reportedly said that there were two devices inside the courthouse and two outside in the parking lot. Officials ordered the evacuation of the entire building and parking lot.
The Collin County Sheriff’s office told TownSquareBuzz.com that Collin County Sheriff’s personnel performed an initial sweep and did not find any suspicious devices. A bomb squad from the Plano Police Department has been called and will perform an additional search of the building as well. A bomb-sniffing dog from DFW has arrived at the courthouse.
As of 11:00 a.m., the courthouse remains evacuated.
