The City of McKinney is now home to an innovative program designed to help entrepreneurs start and grow their own businesses. The grand opening ceremony for the Collide Center is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. It is located at 610 Elm Street #110.
The Collide Center is a new start-up incubator and accelerator center created collaboratively by Curious Complex and the McKinney Economic Development Corporation. The Collide Center will provide work space, resources and training for tech start-ups in their initial stages so that they can grow, and eventually move into their own office space, creating quality jobs in our community.
Open for less than a month, the Collide Center 13 start-up businesses working out of its shared work space. Curious Complex, an online marketplace for the obsessed, is the anchor tenant of the Collide Center.
“It is our vision to foster the entrepreneurial spirit and provide a creative environment for local start-up companies,” said John Valencia, MEDC Director of Business Retention and Emerging Technology. “Investors can help shape and partner with emerging companies sharing their vast knowledge and experiences to foster collaboration between companies as business models are shaped.”
