City council member Geralyn Kever said Tuesday that discussions are under way to connect McKinney by bus with the DART light rail station in Plano.
Kever, talking to the city council, said that one of the goals would be offering McKinney residents a way to get to the DART train station on Parker Road without having to drive their own vehicles to Plano.
Parking at the Plano Station on Parker Road and the Richardson stations can be a problem during rush hours.
Keeping the ticket price reasonable is a big consideration.
Kever, who works on regional transportation issues, said residents tell her: “They don’t want to pay more than their fare share for a bus ticket.”
