Whether you’re in the market for used books and clothing, homemade jewelry, or just want to browse, bargain hunters can troll for treasures during the city-wide McKinney Community Garage Sale and Craft Fair Saturday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Old Settler’s Recreation Center, 1201 E. Louisiana St.
Residents and vendors must reserve a 10-by-10-foot booth space for $25 to sell their wares. A table and two chairs can also be reserved for an additional $5. English and Spanish registration forms can be found on the city’s website and must be returned to Old Settler’s Recreation Center by April 25.
“Some residents aren’t able to hold garage sales in their own neighborhoods for various reasons. This community event is an opportunity to take advantage of a large audience and a space set up just for this type of sale,” said Empress Drane, Recreation Center Supervisor.
At the event, a booth for Emily’s March for a Match, which is searching for a bone marrow match for a young McKinney resident, will be available to take saliva swabs for the bone marrow database.
