McKINNEY, Texas (Jan. 12, 2016) – The City of McKinney invites residents and stakeholders to attend a community workshop for the 10-year update to the city’s Comprehensive Plan. This workshop allows residents toreview and offer feedback on several potential growth scenarios for development and influence the creation of the final preferred land use scenario for McKinney. The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21 at the McKinney Senior Recreation Center, 1400 S. College St.
The city’s Comprehensive Plan guides the growth and development of the city during the next 25 years, and the priorities identified in the plan will influence where new homes, businesses and amenities are built in McKinney.
“Last year, we held a series of input meetings focused on soliciting thoughts and ideas from the public relating to land uses, parks, transportation, economic vitality and other quality of life issues that are incorporated into the city’s Comprehensive Plan,” said Michael Quint, Executive Director of Development Services. “This year, the city will be synthesizing the feedback gathered from residents, property and business owners, as well as from the City Council in order to create a single, unified vision for what McKinney hopes to become.”
