At the regular meeting scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, August 16, McKinney City Council will bring forward the latest revision in the map for redistriciting the city’s single member voting districts. The latest map (see attached PDF file), which would afford District 1 a more compact region of the city than previous maps the city has considered, would also allow District 1 voters to remain a more homogeneous group, with 39.98% being Hispanic and a projected 14.69% African American voters.
Also up for consideration at tonight’s meeting will be the city budget. The City Council has tasked City Manager, Jason Grey with presenting a balanced city budget.
