Submitted by Chris Hill for Collin County Commissioner
Chris Hill, a conservative Republican & McKinney CPA running for Collin County Commissioner Precinct 3, announced today that he has received the endorsement of the Coalition for Better Government, a citizen action committee seeking to identify and support qualified candidates for local office.
In their endorsement, the Coalition stated, “(Chris Hill) is an advocate for low taxes, reducing waste, and pledges to serve as a full-time county commissioner. He has proven professional skills in the financial field and has experience in serving both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. As a certified public accountant, certified internal auditor and certified fraud examiner, his professional code of ethics prohibit him from any form of conflict of interest in his professional activities with those he serves. He is active in service organizations in Collin County and supports numerous professional groups. He is a strong fiscal and social conservative.”
The Collin County Coalition for Better Government is an organization of seven concerned citizens from a variety of professions and locations in Collin County Texas. They represent different areas, political organizations and points of view within Collin County. The Coalition has been meeting with candidates for public office for two months. The candidates were invited to provide answers to surveys, questions about their character, values, reasons for seeking elected office, experience and opinions on taxes, education, immigration, and government responsibility as well as their knowledge of the issues facing Collin County and the State of Texas. They were also asked to sit for a thirty minute interview on specifics centered on the office each candidate was seeking. Each member of the Coalition did their own research, read the surveys and biographies submitted by the candidates and attended as many of the interviews as possible.
In response to the endorsement, Chris Hill stated, “The Coalition of Better Government is a great example of civic participation and democracy at work. I appreciate the efforts of the Coalition members, and I applaud their desire to meet the candidates, conduct interviews, review questionnaires, and investigate our backgrounds. After their in-depth review, I’m honored that they’ve chosen to endorse me as the most qualified and most conservative candidate for county commissioner. I’m ready to go to work for the citizens of Collin County!”
