Our early Christmas present to you is a Mini-Home Tour scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21. Visit the 1890 Kirkpatrick-Crum house and the 1870 V-Life Church along with three houses at Chestnut Square all decorated for Christmas.
Many of you were unable to attend the Holiday Tour of Homes last weekend due to the wintry weather. Even those who braved the weather missed seeing the Kirkpatrick-Crum house due to a power outage and tree limbs down at the house.
We heard your disappointment loud and clear and Jay and Betsy Crum and the V-Life Church agreed to open their homes from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for touring. If you purchased a Holiday Tour of Homes ticket, bring it along and tour for **FREE**. No ticket? No problem….tickets are available at www.chestnutsquare.org
In addition to touring the Kirkpatrick-Crum house and the V-Life Church, we have the following holiday fun planned for Saturday:
- The Holiday Bazaar will be open at the Bevel House at Chestnut Square from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Our Crafters Guild has been working all year on handmade, unique gift items that will be for sale!
- Santa Claus will be at the Holiday Bazaar from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. for pictures! Old-fashioned carolers will stroll the grounds from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
- The winter Farmers Market will be open on the grounds from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Stock up on your favorite Farmers Market items just in time for Christmas.
- The 1870 Johnson House will be decorated for Christmas with our porcelain doll collection. The 1864 Two-Bit Taylor Inn will be open and blacksmithing demonstrations will take place nearby. The 1854 Faires House will offer Dutch oven cooking demonstrations and tastings.
Come on out and get in the holiday spirit the old-fashioned way! And while you’re out, be sure to visit the shops and restaurants in our historic downtown McKinney!
