Chatter around town is that a new shop is opening next to Mom & Popcorn – what will occupy the space that has been recently vacant? The buzz is that it’s a Williams Sonoma type kitchen store – should be fun for local foodies, if it is true!
Word of the street is that Junior Brylen Williams is said to have quit the McKinney North football team. Williams earned a starting position as a sophomore and rushed and passed for a combined 1,600 yards. Senior Hunter Walling is expected to start this fall. In 2010 – stayed tuned to see how this plays out.
Saw that the former Coffee ‘N Cream in downtown McKinney has re-opened as GiGi’s, also serving coffee, ice cream and baked goods that are baked on the premisis. Tried a couple of the cookies – yummy! Orange Juliette’s are refreshing – similar to Orange Julius! Check it out – what do ya think!

Mayor Loughmiller continues to recover from nicely from his bike accident during Bike the Bricks. Despite broken ribs and a punctured lung he has been back to work at his practice as well as at being mayor. Guess you can’t keep a good man down.
Chestnut Square was hoppin’ yesterday at the Ice Cream Festival and annual Killis Melton Crank-Off. Despite the heat, ice cream lovers lined up to taste the unusal flavors made by the crankers. If you missed it, put it on your calendar for next year!
