I know, I know….it’s been a while Chatty fans. Sometimes it takes a while to get the lowdown around town.
I was excited to see that the new full service bicycle shop, Cadence Cyclery, is now open in downtown McKinney at 129 S. Tennessee. A wide selection of very cool bikes for kids and adults look so inviting that I just might have to take up cycling as my new hobby.
Also on the downtown square, Shelby – Marilee & Co. full service hair salon has moved to their new location at 121 W. Louisiana – one block from their former location. How many hair salons does this make in the downtown area?
And speaking of downtown, that reminds me that David Taylor, formerly the Director of McKinney Performing Arts Center, has moved on – gone but not forgotten. Although I’m not certain of the new direction he will be taking as of this writing, I wish him the best. Taking over the reigns from Dave is Ty Lake, Director of McKinney’s Main Street program. Ty has moved her office into MPAC and although the schedule for the 2011-12 season has already been set, I’m sure that she will be working on the schedule for the 2012-13 season soon. Lots of luck Ty!
So have heard from a variety of sources that if you intend to stop by the Subway at the northeast corner of Stonebridge Drive and Virginia Parkway, bring a book – you might finish it by the time you get served. Really?
While on the subject of food, I was stricken to find out that Sonic has taken their salad choices off their menu. So, OK, I have to admit I haven’t been parked at their drive in for ages, but really?? No Salads?? I just had to cave and have a chocolate shake.
