Charlotte Martin, Collin Raye to Perform at MPAC in April

The McKinney Performing Arts Center will host two intimate, must-see concert performances in April. These concerts will be heard in the courtroom theater of MPAC, located at the former Collin County Courthouse in the center of Historic Downtown McKinney.

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Charlotte Martin will take stage on Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m. Over the course of her career, Martin has recorded both major label and independent releases, performed sold-out shows to audiences around the world and shared stages with the likes of Liz Phair, Pete Yorn, Damien Rice, Jason Mraz and many others. Details magazine called her “a seductive performer” and “a skilled lyricist who writes with surgical precision,” and Performing Songwriter praised Martin as “a born storyteller and affecting vocalist.” General admission tickets for Charlotte Martin are $25.

“With Charlotte Martin’s new album, Hiding Places, set to release on April 3, we are anxious to be one of the first to host her spell-binding performance in our intimate courtroom theater. Just hearing simply her voice and the Boston Baby Grand Piano will be an unforgettable experience for everyone who attends,” said Ty Lake MPAC Director.

Collin Raye has been nominated five times as country music’s Male Vocalist of the Year. He takes the stage at MPAC on Friday, April 20 at 8 p.m. One of the true hit makers in Country Music, Raye continues to crank out soulful, heartfelt material with the honesty and richness of his signature vocals. His fiery delivery has made country standards of such searing ballads as “Love, Me,” “In This Life,” “Not That Different” and “Little Rock.” Always an electrifying showman, he has also blazed through such vivid rockers as “My Kind of Girl,” “That’s My Story,” “I Can Still Feel You” and “I Want You Bad.” Reserved tickets for Collin Raye are $35 each.

“We look forward to hosting star power of this magnitude in Historic Downtown McKinney this spring. Tickets are selling fast and we are prepared for a full-house,” said Lake.
