Carlo Pezzimenti To Play Black Box Theater

Submitted By Deborah Viapiana-Ricci, TSB Contributor

Classical guitar aficionados are in for a big treat. Carlo Pezzimenti and his talented troupe of string musicians will be performing at the Frisco Black Box Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. This event will also feature guitarist Leslie Enlow, and Carlo’s protégé of 10 years, guitarist Brian Rowe.

Carlo contacted long-time friend and concert sponsor John Wynn, to help promote his latest CD entitled Arbol del Olvido. John and Carlo have been working and playing together for many years. It’s a true testament to their commitment to excellence, which was avidly witnessed by the fans at their collaborative concert Classical Meets Contemporary last March at the Black Box.

Carlo’s long-standing love for his music would be determined when he and his family moved back to Florence at the age of 12. Although he had been playing the piano for more than 5 years under his mother’s direction, after witnessing his very first classical guitar concert, he was completely smitten and knew that the guitar would forever be his passion. He would then commit to studying guitar in Spain under both Jose Thomas and Andres Segovia for many years to come.

His instrument of choice, his treasured “Fleta” guitar, was handcrafted exclusively for him. While it took 22 years to finally be delivered, it was indeed a prize worth waiting for. As a matter of fact, this incredible instrument will be on display at the concert along with a dozen or so more, from some of the finest European guitar makers in the world. For those of you who appreciate and understand the elite craftsmanship that goes into making these guitars, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to take in the exquisite visual and audible beauty these instruments impart. Having them all in one venue at the same time will be breathtaking, to be sure.

This special event will feature many songs from Carlo’s new release, which will be available to buy during the concert. For more information, feel free to go to John’s website
