Everyone knows someone who is always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, someone who flies under the radar not seeking praise or shout-outs but whose positive impact on others ripples throughout the community. TownSquareBuzz.com kicked off its annual “Heroes Hall of Fame” series last year, which honored five McKinney citizens for their unconditional service to others.
“While attending a community event last year, it occurred to me that there are literally hundreds of unheralded volunteers within our community — the silent servants — all of whom deserve some sort of recognition, as well as an enormous thank you,” said TSB owner and publisher Angie Bado. “I thought that TSB should identify a few individuals who are faithful, consistent contributors of their time and talents, usually behind the scenes, and recognize them through our “Heroes Hall of Fame. It’s our intent, through this award, to foster the spirit of giving back to our community.”
In this vain, TSB is looking to our readers to nominate a friend, neighbor or colleague to be considered for the 2013 class of Heroes Hall of Fame inductees. If you have someone in mind who goes far beyond the call of duty, please email us the name of the individual; their place of employment; your relationship to the nominee and a few paragraphs on why they should be recognized. Please provide specific examples. Nominees must be a McKinney resident. Send in your nominations no later than December 1, 2013.
