Buzz TV: 2nd Annual North Texas Gay Pride Party

By Matthew Bado, TSB Staff

There was an explosion of rainbow flags, shirts, beads and more on Saturday night as over 200 patrons gathered to celebrate equality and unity at the Second Annual North Texas Gay Pride Party in Lewisville.

“This was an opportunity for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community to gather and demonstrate our growing existence as good neighbors and members of the suburban community,” said Morris Garcia, Chair of the Pride Party Planning Committee. “We can’t say thank you enough to the dozens of sponsors and supporters, both gay and straight, that came out to celebrate.”

Over $1200 was raised to benefit C.U.R.E. and Health Services of North Texas. Both organizations provide free HIV/AIDS testing.

In recognition of NATIONAL HIV TESTING DAY,  C.U.R.E. in partnership with Collin College will provide FREE HIV testing to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 27.  Stop by the Collin College Conference Center at 2800 East Spring Creek Parkway in Plano and get tested.
