McKinney North beat Wylie 51-39 on Tuesday night to clinch a spot in the 4A playoffs, joining rival McKinney High, who clinched Friday. The 10-4A qualifiers are all determined: Highland Park (12-0), MHS (9-3), North(8-4), and Rockwall (7-5).
McKinney North 51, Wylie 39: The Bulldogs came out ready to play, racing to a 14-3 lead and took a 28-19 advantage into halftime. Julion Pearre led a balanced attack with 12 points. Adam Munsell added 10. North hosts Wylie East on Friday.
McKinney Boyd 47, Sachse 43: The Broncos won on the road — a huge one — and kept their playoff hopes alive. Boyd (5-7 in 10-5A) trails fourth-place Garland (6-6) by only one game with two to play. South Garland is also 5-7 and in the race. Boyd led 25-18 at halftime and held on to win. Mikel Parish led the way with 21 points. Boyd hosts Rowlett on Friday.
Highland Park 70, McKinney High 48: The Scots won big over MHS at Highland Park on the night Lions star AJ Moutry returned from an injury. Moutry scored 12 points and Jonathan Shannon added 11 for the Lions in the loss. HP remained undefeated in 10-4A. MHS travels to Wylie on Friday.
Shelton 53, McKinney Christian 42: The Mustangs’ Kaelen Malone scored 22 points in MCA’s final game of the season Tuesday.
