McKinney North’s football team pulled off a thrilling fourth-quarter comeback Thursday night in rallying past Richardson Pearce 33-28.
Erick Nickason kicked a 27-yard field goal to cut Pearce’s lead to 28-27; then Hunter Walling connected with Daniel DiJoseph on a 15-yard touchdown pass to provide the final margin.
The Bulldogs’ defense held Pearce out of the end zone in the final quarter.
North is 3-2 overall, 1-1 in District 10-4A; Pearce fell to 2-3 and 0-2.
Walling had three touchdown passes on the night, including two to DiJoseph and another to Austin Parsonage. Trey Smith ran for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Nickason kicked two field goals, including a 30-yarder that put the Bulldogs ahead 17-14 at halftime.
Next week, the Bulldogs play at Rockwall-Heath on Friday, Oct. 7.
