Winged liner is a staple of any holiday look and can be worn day and night. It’s sexy and classic at the same time. First introduced in the 50’s with the sultry “cat eye,” the 60’s ushered in the thicker winged liner with help from Twiggy and nowadays you can wear it both ways and still be on trend!
Step 1: As always, apply primer. All over the eye, even underneath. This helps to keep the liner from smudging.
Step 2: Line your top lid with a black pencil. You can use a Kohl pencil but being that it is a softer material, so choose wisely.
Step 3: Now, and this is where your preference comes in, using either gel or liquid liner. Look directly into the mirror and find where you want to start your wing. I use my brush as a reference.
Step 4: Start to draw your wing towards your where your pencil liner begins.
Step 5: Go over your pencil liner with either your liquid or gel.
Step 6: Finish off by lining your bottom lashes and top it all off with mascara.
Tips: Using both liners helps the liner stay even longer!
Pair your winged liner with your red lip or smoky eye.
Lining the inside of your top lid helps your lashes look fuller.
