The Lions and Bulldogs had a successful Saturday on the hardwood, as both teams earned victories in the final day of their respective tournaments. Here are the full results of the action:
McKinney High Boys:
The Lions finished the Keller Tournament on Saturday by splitting the final two games of the day. MHS defeated Keller Fossil Ridge 62-53 in the first game and lost to Denton Guyer 71-69 in the second game.
Red Shannon led McKinney in the first game on Saturday. He finished with a game-high 24 points and helped the Lions get out to an 11-point first quarter lead.
In game two versus Denton Guyer, the Lions couldn’t complete the late rally and lost by two points. Raynell Denny led the Lions with 19 points, while Connor Fuentes had 14 points and Tracy Miles finished with 11 points.
The Lions are now 10-3 on the season and will travel to Frisco on Monday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
McKinney North Boys:
The Bulldogs defeated the host team in the Wylie Tournament, Wylie High, 63-53 to complete Saturday’s action. North used an 18-7 second quarter to help the Bulldogs get their eighth victory of the season.
Collin Curran led all scorers with 19 points, while Julion Pearre finished with 11 points.
The Bulldogs will travel to Frisco on Friday night, starting at 7:30 p.m.
