A crosstown basketball rivalry renewed Friday night at McKinney Boyd High School, with the visitors from McKinney High winning the boys and girls games. The District 10-5A rivals will meet again, however, on Feb. 4 at MHS.

McKinney High 58, McKinney Boyd 43: Mariah Mitchell led all scorers with 24 points as the Lionettes defeated their crosstown rivals in a District 10-5A battle. Mika Stutts added 17 points for MHS (3-2 in district). The Lady Broncos (1-4 in district) were led by Jordynn Hernandez’s 16 points. MHS dominated, leading 32-12 at halftime and 47-19 after three quarters.
McKinney North 70, Royse City 21: Mikaehla Connor scored 17 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a victory. North is 9-0 in District 13-4A while Royse City fell to 1-6.
McKinney High 44, McKinney Boyd 40: The Lions rallied from a 32-28 deficit going into the fourth quarter to beat their crosstown rival. Remington Edwards (12 points) and Marcus Cross (11 points) led the Lions (1-2 in 10-5A) while Nick Barber topped Boyd (0-3 in 10-5A) with 10 points.
McKinney North 85, Royse City 46: The Bulldogs had 10 players score, including five in double figures, on Friday night. Michael Caldwell and Steele Douglas led the way with 13 points apiece. North improved to 7-0 in District 13-4A while Royse City fell to 3-4.
