On Tuesday night, North girls won its third straight district game while Boyd boys defeated Marcus to win its tweflth game of the early season.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to stay hot in the start of the District 13-4A season by knocking off Lovejoy 40-32 on Tuesday night on the road. North improved to 3-0 in district, while Lovejoy dropped its first game to fall to 2-1.
North will take on Wylie at home on Friday night. Tip off is at 6:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs lost their district opener on Tuesday night, losing to Lovejoy 65-57 on the road. North could no overcome being outscored 19-8 in the first quarter.
Julion Pearre had a game-high 16 points for North, while Collin Curran finished with 15 points and Bryson Brown had 13 points. Jola Otubu also had 11 points.
North will be home this Friday night to take on Wylie. Tip off is at 8 p.m.
McKinney High Girls:
The Lionettes defeated Coppell 58-42 on the road Tuesday night to improve to 10-9 on the season. Coppell dropped to 6-12.
Jazsmin Nelson finished with a team-high 16 points, while Mariah Mitchell had 13 points and Leslie Zupanic had 10 points for MHS.
McKinney will travel to Hebron on Friday night, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Broncos dropped below .500 again on Tuesday night, suffering a 47-27 home loss to Flower Mound Marcus. Boyd fell to 9-10 on the season, while Marcus improved to 15-4.
No Lady Bronco finished in double figures in points, but Haley Carruthers led the team with nine points.
Boyd will face Amarillo in the opening game of the Mansfield Rotary Invitational on Thursday afternoon. Tip off is at 1:15 p.m.
The Broncos won its twelfth game of the season on Tuesday night, defeating Flower Mound Marcus 46-27 on the road. Boyd improved to 12-2 on the season, while Marcus fell to 7-10.
11 players scored points for the Broncos in the game, while Martez Butler and Zach Rubel led the team in scoring with eight points.
Boyd will host Garland on Friday night, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
