It’s tournament time again in local varsity baseball. Our teams are headed to Wylie, Carrollton and Sherman to compete beginning Thursday.
Boyd Loses Second Straight, Set for Wylie Tournament: The Broncos started the season on a roll with four straight wins. But Tuesday night’s lopsided 11-1 loss to Sherman was Boyd’s second in a row, following its 5-3 loss to McKinney High on Saturday night in the final game of the MISD Tournament. The Broncos will compete in the Wylie Tournament from Thursday through Saturday.
North Set for Diamond Classic: McKinney North will return to Carrollton for its second straight tournament this week, taking part in Newman Smith’s Diamond Classic from Thursday through Saturday. The Bulldogs are off to a 3-1 start with their lone loss being a 2-1 nail-biter to Irving MacArthur.
MHS Headed to Sherman Tourney: McKinney High will travel to Sherman Veterans Field for the Sherman Tournament on Thursday through Saturday. The Lions had a tough start to the season with three straight losses in the MISD Tournament before gaining some momentum by beating McKinney Boyd 5-3 on Saturday night.
