Although Boyd and MHS suffered Friday defeats, North continued its hot ways with two tournament wins.
McKinney North won twice Friday in the Diamond Classic in Carrollton, improving to 3-0 in tournament play. The Bulldogs defeated Trinity Christian-Addison 9-3 and Carrollton Creekview 9-4. Montana Sadler, Troy Segui and Grant Michalak all doubled for the Dawgs against Trinity; Will Shumate got the win on the hill against Creekview while Michalak triped to lead the hitting barrage. North is in the championship game at Noon today against Carrollton Ranchview at Kelly Field in Carrollton.
Frisco Centennial defeated McKinney Boyd 5-3 on Friday evening in the Wylie Tournament. The Broncos, 1-1 in the tournament, finish play Saturday against Denison at 5 p.m and against host Wylie at 7:30 p.m.
HSAA beat McKinney High 4-3 in the Sherman Invitational. Joe Baker took the loss. The Lions’ bats were silenced just one day after they dominated Richardson in a 23-0 blowout. The Lions finish tournament play by taking on host Sherman on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Sherman Veterans Field.
