On Friday night, the McKinney Lions traveled to Plano East looking to take both games this week versus the Panthers. Meanwhile, the No. 7 ranked North Bulldogs played at Greenville looking to stay perfect in District 13-4A play. Below are scores and recaps from Friday’s action on the diamond:
The Lions (1-3) came up short at Plano East on Friday night, falling to the Panthers 7-6 to split the two games versus the district rival this week. Nathan Ahsam was the losing pitcher for McKinney.
With the game tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning, James Rudkin hit a ball down to third baseman Garrett Christianson, who bobbled the ball that allowed the winning run to score from third base and give the Panthers the win.
McKinney defeated Plano East 5-0 on Tuesday night in the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.
MHS travels to Plano West (3-1) on Tuesday night, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs (5-0) defeated Greenville 7-2 on the road on Friday night in District 13-4A action. Julian Pope was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs.
At the plate, Anthony Herrera, Gabe Constantine, and Trey Segui each doubled once for North. On the mound, Pope and Herrera combined to throw a three-hitter versus Greenville.
The No. 7 ranked Bulldogs will travel to Duncanville on Saturday afternoon for a non-district contest, beginning at noon.
