McKinney High desperately needed a victory on Tuesday night to begin clawing its way back into the playoff discussion, but the Lions came up just short in a 3-2 loss at Wylie East. Anthony Hermelyn took the loss on the mound for MHS, while Dalton Harris was the recipient of the only extra base hit for the Lions, tripling in the ballgame. MHS dropped to 0-6 in District 10-4A play.
McKinney North missed a prime opportunity to create a four-way tie for first place in District 10-4A when the Bulldogs lost to Rockwall 9-4 at home. The Bulldogs struggled to create offense all night, only totaling five hits in the ballgame. Preston Speers and Grant Michalak each doubled for North, while Will Shumate was the losing pitcher on the hill. The Bulldogs fell to 3-3 in District 10-4A, one game behind Rockwall-Heath, Wylie East, and Wylie for second place.
McKinney Boyd played a hard fought game versus Rowlett on Tuesday night, but the errors and mental mistakes proved costly for the Broncos as they suffered their second loss in District 10-5A by a score of 2-1. Cameron Sweeney pitched outstanding for Boyd, but his effort wasn’t enough as he earned the loss on the mound. The Broncos fell to 4-2 in district ball, one game behind Naaman Forest and Rowlett for first place.
