During the pregame shows for the three McKinney high schools homecoming games, one aviation student and a flight instructor will be performing a flyover. The student will be from the Introduction to Aviation class and will be flying a 1996 Mooney aircraft with a top speed of over 250 mph and a maximum altitude of 14,500 feet and will be flying with a senior Certified Flight Instructor. If you have an interest in this program, please ask your counselor how you too can join McKinney ISD’s new aviation program.
McKinney ISD and Collin County Student Aviation Initiative (CCSAI) have formed a partnership to allow students to pursue training in the aviation industry. The goal of this partnership is to provide a means to uplift and empower our youth with mentorship, education and career development within the aerospace community.
Our dual role avionics certification and piloting program, not only offers the student with a career opportunity post secondary academia, but offers exposure to the flight aspect of our field.
Our aviation logistics program teaches managerial skills in the airline passenger and cargo fields, which provides a different aspect to the aerospace community.
Each four year program, affords the student who wishes to obtain an advanced degree from the University of North Texas, Aviation Logistics Degree program a significant advantage upon entering UNT’s program.
