Collin College’s 2011-12 Auteur Film Series welcomes everyone to the “wasteland.”
This year’s series focuses on TV in film with the theme of “Films From the Wasteland: TV and the Recline(r) of Civilization” starting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14 with a free screening of The Truman Show.
The 1998 film stars Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, who is unaware that his entire life is taking place on an enormous TV set and entertained millions worldwide. One day, Truman begins to break free from the script, disintegrating The Truman Show’s carefully constructed “reality.”
The screening will be at the Angelika Film Center, located at The Shops at Legacy, 7205 Bishop Road in Plano.
All Auteur Film Series screenings are free and open to the public.
The film runs 103 minutes. Some material may not be suitable for all audiences.
