Arts in Bloom | McKinney citizens headed to the historic downtown square on Saturday, April 11 for a fun filled day of Art, Music and even a little wine. This all day event offered the public not only a chance to buy one of a kind pieces of art, but also to see it created in front of their eyes.
Art | Over 150 artists lined the streets of downtown offering their products and demonstrating their crafts. A juried art show was among the many attractions. From painting and wood carving to throwing clay and photography, there was something to appeal to anyone’s senses.
Music | Jazz, country and covers oh my! This event had it all for those of you interested in humming along to something while you take in the sweet spring air. Performers included Clever Girls and Rockefellas, Dori Grace, Mark A Turner, Bambi and Thumper, Jason Davis Band, Chelsea Pilgrim, Sister Smolen, Children’s Chorus of Collin County, and Larry Brantley
Wine | New to this years event was a wine garden and wine tasting featuring Texas wineries. $20 tickets to the wine garden included a Go Texan Wine Glass and 10 tickets to use at any participating winery with the cost per taste averaging about one dollar. Participants were offered a chance to meet with the wine makers while sitting back and relaxing to the sounds of local musicians on the main stage where Kentucky St. was shut down. Participating wineries included Landon Winery, Caudalie Crest, Lone Star Wine Cellars, Sloan and Williams, Haak Vineyards, Homestead Winery, Eden Hill, Collin Oaks, Grayson Hills, Crump Valley Vineyards, Los Pinos Ranch and Paris Vineyards.
