Arts Center of North Texas Welcomes New Board Members

Two new Board members were sworn in at the meeting on October 20 to the Arts Center of North Texas.  Bill Shaddock of Plano fills the At-Large seat and Paul Gosnell was appointed to the vacant Frisco seat.  They replace Sandra Yancey, At-Large, and Jim Minyard, Frisco, who completed their terms September 30, 2011.  The Arts Center Board is made up of seven members representing the Owner Cities of Allen, Frisco and Plano as well as an At-Large position.  Jim Minyard received a plaque and warm words of thanks from Board Vice President Betty Bell Muns and two past Presidents, Robbie Robinson and Steve Matthews.

Also, join us for an art walk to celebrate the opening of the Six City Trail on Nov. 12. The trail on the arts park site is almost complete. Paving is done along Ridgeview Drive and Rowlett Creek on the eastern side of the park. Crews are now putting in landscape improvements, signal crossings for pedestrians, striping in the parking lot and signage to complete the job.  We are planning an Art Walk on Saturday, November 12, from 2 to 4 p.m.  Please come to walk the beautiful trail and enjoy art, music and dance provided by Allen arts organizations. There will be an official ribbon cutting at 2:30 and refreshments.
