By TSB Staff

It’s been a very busy week for the SPCA of Texas, most notably at the Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney.

Accoding to various news reports, not only were more than 200 animals received from Gulf Coast shelters this week in preparation for Hurricane Isaac, but on Wednesday fowl, ducks and rabbits were moved to McKinney after 120 animals were seized from a Hunt County man who relinquished 249 mistreated animals last month.

They took 90 fowl, 12 rabbits and one duck, as well as some cats and dogs.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Clayton Lawrence, the property owner, told the newspaper that he sells animals at a flea market to supplement his social security income.
