Angie’s Insights: More Great Stuff in TSB

I like to change things up in my world. I like to rearrange my home furnishings now and then, change up the hair and wardrobe (probably too often), visit a different grocery store now and then and at time, I even feel like I’m ready for a change in housing – the thought of packing and unpacking is undoubtedly the hurdle that roots me at the same address. I read a plethora of “self-help” books and books that offer business tips and solutions that, hopefully, will steer me to effect some positive changes in my life.

Change can be difficult and downright frightening , but for me, making some small changes in my life, one or two at a time, assures me that I’m growing, learning, evolving.

Which brings me to some of the changes we have made in TownSquareBuzz.com (TSB). It, too, is a work in constant progress. We realize that it can be a bit disconcerting to open up the TSB homepage and see new positioning of subject matter and new buttons, but I hope you will stay with us as we work diligently to present a product that is community driven – for you and about you. We strive to be THE online site where you and your family can share your thoughts on government, education, highlights of family kudos and achievements and much more.

In case you’ve missed it, the following are just a few of the changes that I hope you are aware of.

Are you missing what is inside the many sections of the site? Dig deeper than just the front page! TSB has a wide variety of juicy, interesting stories on everything from happenings in our city government to stories about real people and real community issues, such as the reader submitted story on bullying at school.

I hope you’ve had a chance to read the hilarious adventures of our Momma Drama writer as she shares her mommy experiences. Our talented teen writer, Christine, tackles the daily drama of being a senior in high school with her Teen Talk column and, as always, Joe keeps us all up to date with the latest in local high school sports. Carpe Diem, Y’all, is Michele’s wonderfully fresh weekly column, which combines entertainment happenings with her love of adventure – she is always up for something new and exciting!
Kyra keeps up cooking with her terrific recipes, including yummy photos of her culinary masterpieces, (has anyone tried the Peach Cake?) and I, for one, love her humor as well as her cooking expertise!

We want to promote our local businesses so we’ve added Stuart J’s Lens  our new weekly business video featuring a McKinney business owner. We think this is a fun, interesting way to present a bit of information about our local business personalities. If you would like to have your business featured, email Stuart today.

Parents, if you are interested in a fun, easy way to raise some funds for your favorite booster club, while also giving some cool recognition to your child, purchase a Shout Out ad, and TSB will give 20% of the funds raised back to the booster club of the sport or activity your child enjoys.

Don’t miss the many videos on Buzz TV – including our newest addition of Good Morning McKinney, which comes out on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays of each week. Buzz TV is easy to find on our Homepage and we have a new video to share every day!  Don’t miss it. We’d love to feature some of your own videos on our site, so go ahead – post them. Click on “I Have a Story to Share” (top right section of Homepage!)

So come on, join us and happy reading and posting,

Angie
