Activities are Plentiful at Orisons During ‘Arts in Bloom’

Orisons Fine Art and Framing will be pulsing with activity throughout McKinney’s annualArts in Bloomart walk on Saturday, April 13. Beginning at 10 a.m., and continuing through Second Saturday that evening, Orisonswill feature several artists inside and outside along Louisiana Street in historic downtown McKinney.

Artists who will be involved include: Weeda Hamdan, Melissa Ellis, Julia Pappas, Linda Bourgault, Leo Malboeuf, Danah Moore, Susan Bishop, Annie Royer, Don Fogg, Lynne Hubner, Jeni Tomlinson, Stan Cobb, Yenny Archbold, Brenda Brannon, L.C. Tobey, Joe Sambataro, David Hobson, Tommy Tobey, Bob Bruu, Pete Quaid, Teresa Kreiger, Logan Larsen, Carissa Pelouch, Ellie Earhart, Paige Peterson, Ashtyn King, Magda Dia, Kris Byars, and Stephen Hackley.

During April’s Second Saturday (7-10 p.m.) festivities, Orisons is pleased to exhibit the photography of Mark Renz. Renz’s conceptual artwork explores memories tied to loss and grieving. Layered and complex, they call for an engaged response. Other works focus on a sense of place through architecture and landscape.

A native New Yorker, Renz studied architecture in Italy and Turkey prior to completing an MA in photography at Savannah College of Art and Design. Renz currently resides in Frisco. Join Orisons for a very special reception, serving wine, beverages and Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Also that evening, the gallery space upstairs will be filled with artwork by the McKinney Artist Critique Group.Susan Bishop, Annie Royer, LC Tobey, Tommy Tobey, Teresa Kreiger, Jeni Tomlinson and Bob Bruu will be exhibiting new works inspired by this growing workshop led by Joe Sambataro.
