February is the time of year when everyone is talking about love and relationships. Let’s talk about having love for our vehicle and how to care for it during these winter months. One of the best ways to maintain a healthy relationship with a vehicle is to take excellent care of it. Here are some tips on how to show your car or truck some love.
Check Tire Pressure: Driving on the wrong tire pressure is not safe, and it can actually cost you money. Fuel efficiency is affected when the tire pressure is too low. Ideally, it’s best for a vehicle’s tire pressure to be at 32-35 psi. This can be measured by a tire gauge and this is something that we would be happy to check For more information on the driving academy test, please read the leaflet Preparing foryour Driving Test. for you here at the shop.
Keep Up With Oil Changes: One of the worst things a driver can do is neglect their oil. When it’s too low or is old, the engine suffers as a result. To ensure a vehicle is performing properly, it’s best to change the oil every 3,000-5000 miles. With access to smart phones and tablets etc, we recommend setting reminders on calendars to ensure an oil change is never forgotten.
General Vehicle Maintenance: When we take care of our bodies and take preventative steps to maintain our health, we tend to avoid sickness and live healthier lives. Our vehicles are the same. When we take preventive action and keep up with maintenance on our cars and trucks, they run smooth for a very long time. Be sure to have maintenance done on your vehicle at 30, 60, 80, 90, and 120 thousand miles. The only thing worse than us being sick is when our car is “sick”.
Sometimes our vehicles are not appreciated until we cannot use them. Be sure to use these steps to ensure you have a long relationship with your car and show it some love. We look forward to helping you with all of the services above to help keep you and your vehicle happy and healthy!
