3 Reasons Why a Stylist Should Have Their Own Space

Starting a business is an exciting time in an entrepreneur’s life, especially when it comes to doing something that they love. Becoming a stylist is no different.  When an esthetician or stylist first receives their license, they feel like they’re on cloud nine!  What a moment!  Now reality sets in.  Now they need clients.  Not only do they need clients, they now need a space of their own to actually run our business.  A styling professional can definitely take their business to the next level by having a space of their own.  Here are 3 reasons why a stylist should have their own space.

1. Professional Image:  A stylist that has his or own space will project more of a professional image than someone that does hair, nail, or skin from home. There is nothing wrong with home-based business, but most people perceive a stylist to be more lucrative when they have a dedicated salon.  Having their own space also allows a stylist to use a physical address on their branding items such as business cards, websites, flyers, etc.

2. Safety: It can be flat out dangerous for a stylist to work from home and give out his or her address to complete strangers.  Also, some clients prefer that (if a stylist doesn’t have their own space) a nail or hair specialist come to their home which can also compromise the stylist’s safety.  Our tenants are all in secure, camera-monitored locations in Frisco and Allen

3. More Room:  Let’s face it..there is only so much equipment and products that we can fit into our home salon.  By renting a salon space, a stylist can add more and better equipment, give their clients more amenities like waiting areas and televisions, and be able to get great salon lighting to ensure beautiful results.  Also there are less distractions when a stylist is in their own salon suite as opposed to being at home.  Another positive reason for a stylist to move their work to a salon suite is so they can get their living space back in order and truly separate work from personal life.

Starting a business in the beauty industry can be tough, but finding an affordable space to operate in will provide the professional look that every stylist is looking for.  Thank you for taking a moment to read this and please share with any stylist that you may know that would like an affordable way to transition from the home to a salon.
